Two More Days

Yes, only two more days until Nick and I go to England for a week! Yaaaaaaay!

Anyway, quick update. Day off today after an extremely busy day at work yesterday and I plan on making some Photoshop CS3 Actions. We'll see how they turn out later.. I definitely have a few ideas though of how I want them.

Now for a few piccies.

Hello England

So my wonderful boss decided to grant me my holidays despite not giving a full months notice. Woohoo! We're going back to England for a week! Very excited about it. Only we need to make some plans. I definitely want to go to London Zoo 'cause now I have my new D90 and Nikon 18-200mm lens I can finally do some serious wildlife photography. I think the new Nightmare on Elmstreet comes out in the cinema in a few days so we're taking Karis along with us and we'll go watch that. It'll be good to catch up with Karis seeing as I haven't seen her in ages. We leave on the 12th May which is 10 more days and counting!

I haven't really had a chance to play about with my new lens yet 'cause I've been really busy at work but when I first got it I fell inlove instantly.

Anyway, some new pictures.

Tired, Tired.. And Still Tired

Work has been rather draining, lately. It has these sudden busy periods followed by quiet periods but when it's busy.. it's busy and the pressure is on. Still enjoying work though and that's the main thing. I've been doing a lot of 10:30's recently, and as much as I enjoy sleeping in, I don't enjoy closing up, haha.. but I guess we each have to take it in turns and I totally respect that.

After the big drama about the volcano that erupted and the ash spreading for miles on end I must say that despite  the sympathy I feel for these people being stranded I'm sick of hearing about it. Newspapers, news, out and about.. ffs. Stephen went away to Africa for a few weeks before hand and was due to fly back to London, only the ash was too dangerous and the airlines had shut down. Anyway, Frances ended up going to him for roughly a week so Nick and I get to play house while we have it all to ourselves, yay!

There's also been a lot of talk about us going to Australia. Nick's Visa runs out in a year and he needs to go back to re-new it if we decide to stay in England. Either way, I'd be going with him so we're slowly considering as to whether or not we can start a new life there. Not sure how that would be for me.. away from my home, mum, family and friends.. but I guess we all have to get to that stage sometime in our life.

Anyway, on my day off I decided to take my D90 for a spin and take Nick along with me with his parents D90 so we could both go pictures. You know, just driving around and stopping when we see somewhere attractive. Turned out pretty well but when I came back home and looked at the pictures I was disappointed with some of them. As a result I ended up getting more piccies with some flowers Nick had bought me the following day. They seemed to come out a lot better. I decided to work with waterdrops as I haven't done anything like it in ages! I can't even find my syringe (no I'm not a druggy, it's for my waterdrops), so I had to stick with a spray bottle.

Oh and I was looking through my older images and came across my furballs who I miss so much. :(

...need to find a good pic of fizz.

Have a good week everyone. :)

The Day Off..

Haven't updated in a while, I've been pretty busy at work and at home. Just a quicky right now though.

Been out and about using my new D90, planning on getting the Nikon 18-200mm too. Might even be getting a sale on my D40 and my current sigma 18-200 so hopefully that'll turn out. The money can go towards my new lens. Woohoo!

And before I forget, had to start work yesterday at 7 AM. Woke up at 6 AM to the most beautiful sunset I've seen in a while. This was taken from my back garden:

Sexy, huh? Don't be too jealous now.

Anyway, I've used my day off today to edit some pics that I haven't had time to do, so here they are:

That's all I'll upload for now. I'll have to make you all wait for the next flood of piccies. ;)

Hope you enjoyed them! As always, there's plenty more to come.

Nikon D90.. Highlight Of My Day

Before anything, I have a Nikon D90!!!  I can't even express how pleased I am about it, and it only cost me £487! Rather cheap for such an expensive camera I think. I only got the body as I have tons of lenses to go with it. I was playing with it this morning, comparing quality with the D90 and BAM! Quality is amazing.

Apart from that I've done a few, small shopping spree's... trousers, tops, perfumes.. dragging the poor boyfriend along with me, but he's been really good about it. He hasn't even complained once although he must be bored out of his mind. I try and make it short and painless for him though.

Now for a quick update of pictures:

...the cute little easter egg that I bought.. for me, lol:

Now for the easter pics I mentioned in my other post:

Gotta admit, they are cuteee! ^_^

Now for a few easter unrelated pics:

^^ That was taken on the day we drove to the beach.. We were driving and I suddenly saw these cute bunnies in a field. "STOP!!" I shouted.. Nick parked the car and by the time I got up there with my camera the rabbits had gone, but all was not lost as I found this gorgeous flower.

^^ This is definitely one of my favourites. Everything just fits in so well. I think it'd look great on a canvas. ;D

More to come, probably along with pics of my new camera.. just 'cause I can't resist.

Last but not least have a great easter everyone!
